LIPA Parents United: A Fight to Save Their School
The parents of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) are determined to save their school from closure. In a recent letter, the school's leadership informed parents that the decision to shut down the school was made jointly with Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson due to prolonged financial struggles and concerns about the facilities. However, Anna Mulholland, whose daughter has been a student at LIPA since the age of four, is not giving up without a fight.
"We're not going down without a battle," she declared. "The letter might suggest a finality, but we're in a consultation period. Parents and staff are united, working tirelessly. Many parents have vowed to keep fighting until the school's doors close behind them."
LIPA, managed by the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts Multi Academy Trust (LIPA MAT), is distinct from the higher education performing arts college founded by Sir Paul McCartney. Despite the challenges, the parents' unwavering determination highlights the importance of their children's education and the community they've built within the school walls.
